School Transition Courses
Welcome to Surge Self Defence School Transition Courses! If you have a daughter in Year 6, 7 or 8 and would like to learn how to defend and protect herself, we run day courses in towns across the UK. We are currently running our transition courses in Kent from September – December 2023.
With children starting to walk and travel to school alone, for many parents and children, this can be a daunting time, especially with the darker nights creeping in. Our courses are divided between the practical techniques of self-defence, theory and psychological. We are passionate about young girls having access to potentially lifesaving self-defence skills and knowledge! Our practical self-defence courses are designed to focus on a child being smaller than a perpetrator with techniques that will work regardless of a child’s size. We include psychological elements to the courses to ensure that the child grows in confidence about their ability to protect themselves. The syllabus also includes theory such as prevention and digital self-defence. All syllabus material is delivered in an age appropriate way, with a big stress on the rarity of situations happening. Below you can see an example of one of our Transition Day Courses with the syllabus that is taught.
